
Residential sales figures for April 2023
The figures show a sharp rise in sales volume compared with the previous month, reaching 25%. Around 150 thousand homes were sold across Türkiye during March.
In Istanbul the figure was around 35 thousand homes.
In April, around 200 thousand homes were sold across Türkiye, while Istanbul alone accounted for some 50 thousand.
Looking at the detail, Antalya was the province that sold the most homes to foreign buyers in April 2023, with 1024 residential units. Istanbul came second with 792 units sold, and Mersin third with 186 units.
The figures also point to a rise in the price of homes sold in Türkiye. The average flat price nationwide in April was around 300 thousand Turkish lira, while in Istanbul the average was about 500 thousand Turkish lira.
Sales in the ten provinces that sold the most to foreign buyers during April, and over the first four months of this year, were as follows:

Russians lead the buying nationalities
As for the ranking of foreign nationalities by their purchases of homes in Türkiye, Russians took first place as the largest foreign buyers of residential property in Türkiye in April 2023, with 817 units purchased, followed by Iranians in second place with 377 units, and Ukrainians third with 136 units. Purchases by the twenty most active nationalities over this period were as follows:

Property experts expect this rise in both sales volume and prices to continue over the coming months, keeping Türkiye and Istanbul among the most attractive property investment destinations in the world.
