Since the law on acquiring Turkish citizenship through property investment was amended in late 2018, everyone has been asking about the strength and the advantages of the Turkish passport
and about which countries a Turkish passport opens without a visa. The Turkish passport currently ranks 53rd on the passport ranking index, giving its holders visa-free travel to 111 destinations around the world, a reflection of Türkiye's diplomatic relations and its activity abroad, which leaves it with a middling degree of mobility overall. Holders of Turkish passports can also travel to many countries and obtain a visa on arrival
This passport allows immediate travel to many countries around the world, but Turkish passport holders still need a visa arranged in advance for around 118 countries, including China, every European Union member state and India
The Turkish government has recently made changes to the law on granting citizenship to foreigners, which is available through a number of channels: property investment, marriage to a Turkish national, or Ottoman ancestry. Türkiye holds a special and well-regarded position in the region and in the world, and it is counted among the G20 economies.
