Types of residence permit in Turkey

Turkey is one of the most popular destinations in the world for tourism, study and business.

But living legally in Turkey involves several different kinds of visa and residence permit that need to be taken

into account.

1- Short-stay visit visa:
This is a permit that allows foreign nationals to enter Turkey for a set period for tourism

or business. It is usually valid for up to 90 days within a 180-day period.

2- Work entry visa and residence permit:
This visa is granted to foreign nationals who have been hired by Turkish companies to work in Turkey.

The permit is issued for up to two years and is renewable.

3- Student visa:
Granted to students who wish to pursue higher or secondary education in Turkey.

Students must first be accepted by an accredited educational institution in Turkey

in order to obtain this permit.

4- Temporary work permit:
This permit is granted to foreign nationals hired to work on a temporary or seasonal project in Turkey.

5- Investor residence permit:
This permit is granted to foreign nationals who invest a specified amount of money in Turkey. Investors

can hold this permit for up to 2 years, and it is renewable.

6- Family residence permit:
This permit is granted to family members who are direct relatives of a foreign national holding a residence permit in Turkey.
