Ortaköy, wrapped around the Bosphorus

Ortaköy lies in the Beşiktaş district on the European side of Istanbul,

and sitting beneath the first Bosphorus bridge gives it a stunning natural view over the shore
It is home to the lovely Ortaköy Mosque, with its calm, spiritual air and its striking view of

the Bosphorus shore, which makes for an enchanting picture, especially in the evening.
It counts among the foremost attractions in Ortaköy in particular and in Istanbul in general.

The Ortaköy market, or the open market as some call it, is one of the best-known bazaars

and street markets in Istanbul, offering Turkish goods and produce at very good prices.

There are also plenty of restaurants and cafés, and perhaps the most famous thing to eat is Turkish kumpir,

One of the things that makes Ortaköy so special is being able to sit right in front of the strait

where seats and chairs are laid out,

so you can enjoy the lovely breeze off the strait in an experience you will not forget.
