Beşiktaş, the capital of culture
Beşiktaş is regarded as Istanbul's leading capital of culture, the arts and education, and it is one of the most valuable districts in Istanbul, home to a number of wonderful neighbourhoods such as Ortaköy, Arnavutköy, Kuruçeşme and Bebek, and the best place to watch life in Istanbul unfold.
Although it is a relatively small district of Istanbul, Beşiktaş is considered one of the most important parts of the city because it brings together a great many business areas, shopping destinations, historic sites, universities and the breathtaking scenery of the Bosphorus.

The district also has a fish market, a place dedicated to selling fish and stocking many different varieties, and there are plenty of restaurants, cafés and shops in the market.
