Fethiye, Türkiye's bride of the sea ..

This wonderful city, considered the pearl of life in Türkiye, lies in the south-west of the country in the Muğla region, looking out over the Aegean Sea that separates Türkiye from Greece. It sits about nine metres above sea level and is one of the newest Turkish cities, built on the ruins of Telmessos, which was destroyed by the earthquake of 1958.
Fethiye owes much of its charm to its climate: warm and humid in summer, tempered by gentle breezes that give the city an air of natural beauty
Winter is just as lovely, with most days bright and clear and light rain on a few of them .

Among the most notable natural and leisure attractions in Fethiye :

1_Butterfly Valley in Fethiye

Butterfly Valley lies on the slopes of Mount “Babadağ”
on the Aegean Sea, in the province of “Muğla”in Türkiye. It is a large valley reached either by water taxi from Fethiye, specifically from “Ölüdeniz” (Oludeniz),
and it is one of the most breathtaking spots in Fethiye, a natural retreat and a place to escape noisy city life for a few days or weeks. For others it is somewhere that seems to sit outside history and time altogether, and given its beauty and enchanting setting it is hard to believe Butterfly Valley exists at all. Great swarms of butterflies live near the waterfalls, with more than 100 different species in a range of colours

and it holds a great many artefacts that speak of the culture of the day, from jewellery of every kind and beautiful mosaics to the ceramics and handmade works produced at the time

5_Kayaköy village
This village is a historic open-air museum made up of hundreds of half-ruined buildings, most of them still in the Greek architectural style. It also has a number of restored houses and some buildings turned into shops selling handmade goods.
The village also contains several ancient Orthodox churches, still partly standing, in which the architectural style of the 18th and 19th centuries stands out clearly
