The difference between İmam Hatip schools and ordinary schools
İmam Hatip schools are state schools under the Turkish Ministry of National Education. They have no primary stage: study begins at middle school and continues into high school. İmam Hatip schools teach a range of religious subjects alongside the subjects taught in every other school.
Among the advantages of İmam Hatip schools
1- They teach religious subjects alongside the Turkish state curriculum.
2- Lessons are taught in Turkish and Arabic together
3- They are widespread, with schools all over the Turkish Republic.
4- They are free, which suits families on middle and lower incomes.
5- They require a minimum level of Turkish for admission .
One of the differences between ordinary schools and İmam Hatip schools is that İmam Hatip schools
follow a policy of no mixing, with separate schools for girls and separate schools for boys.
As for the curriculum taught in ordinary schools
there is no difference in the subjects between ordinary schools and İmam Hatip schools .
