Types of health insurance in Türkiye
1- Travel visa insurance for Türkiye : this document is essential in order to obtain an entry visa to Türkiye,
and it is issued by the Turkish embassy in your country's capital, or by the Turkish consulate where one exists, and is attached to the visa application papers for Türkiye.
This type of insurance covers:
Any medical treatment costing 100 Turkish lira or less
Patient transport cover
Repatriation of the body in the event of death while travelling
2- Private health insurance : this type of cover is required as a condition for obtaining residence in Türkiye,
and it is provided to foreign nationals by private health insurance companies in Türkiye. It is not the same as travel insurance.
3- Comprehensive cover for tests, medical care and accidents : the resident obtains cover suitable for gaining residence in
Türkiye, alongside the possibility of covering many examinations, tests and urgent or emergency incidents at state hospitals,
4- Full cover: private companies also offer comprehensive health insurance in Türkiye that covers every
aspect of treatment, above all operations, although this type of cover is very expensive.
