In a strategic move to strengthen economic relations and encourage Gulf investments in Turkey,
the Turkish presidency has launched a special Arabic-speaking department. This was revealed by
Ahmet Burak Dağlıoğlu, director of the Presidential Investment Office, in an interview with
“Asharq” newspaper,
the Qatari newspaper. He stated that this department will report directly to the presidency, and it will work to support
Gulf investors by giving them priority in investment facilities in Turkey, in addition to producing
media content in Arabic, and its staff will be fluent Arabic speakers.
Dağlıoğlu added, in his statement to the newspaper, that Qatar is the top Gulf country in
investment in Turkey, followed by the UAE, Kuwait, Oman and Bahrain.
It is worth noting that President Erdoğan toured Gulf countries in July 2023, which included Saudi Arabia,
Qatar and the UAE, resulting in the signing of a number of treaties and memoranda of understanding that strengthen trade
and investment exchange.
Turkey is considered a distinguished investment destination for Gulf investors, given its strong economy and its
strategic geographic location as a bridge between Europe, Asia and the eastern Mediterranean. This new department is expected
to contribute significantly to strengthening economic cooperation, boosting investments
and creating new job opportunities.
