The Princes' Islands, the magic of the Bosphorus
This is a chain of islands in the Sea of Marmara belonging to the province of Istanbul in Türkiye, known as the Princes' Islands
or the red islands, "Kızıl Adaları". They are notably small, covering some 15.58 km²,
and they serve as a retreat for leisure and for enjoying the beauty of the natural setting,
They are also home to historic churches and monasteries that bear witness to the islands' long past
The Princes' Islands are made up of nine islands in the Sea of Marmara, close to the Asian side of Istanbul.
They count among the foremost and most popular destinations in Istanbul, thanks to a calm the city itself does not have,
and since there are no cars on the islands, visitors can ride in horse-drawn carriages or use bicycles.
Life on these islands is calm and simple: the streets are narrow and quiet, the buildings are old
and every house is made of wood. There is no pollution and no crowding, which makes it a good place to unwind
far from the noise and bustle of the city.
