The Turkish Official Gazette published yesterday, Monday 11/12/2023, a decision issued by the Turkish President,

amending the implementing regulation on the application of the Turkish citizenship law.
The amendment made by presidential decree provides that agricultural land and building land are excluded from the properties that

qualify their foreign buyers to apply for Turkish citizenship through property investment, by

requiring the qualifying property to be a building, alongside the value condition of

400 thousand dollars.
On the basis of this amendment, and following this presidential decree, a foreign national will no longer be able to apply

for Turkish citizenship on the strength of buying unbuilt property, meaning that land is no longer a property that qualifies an application

for Turkish citizenship, whether it is building land or agricultural land.
