Admission requirements at Turkish universities

Türkiye welcomes international students and opens a great many doors to them.

It has even made studying in Türkiye and obtaining a student visa easier.

Some universities also offer extra fee discounts to high-achieving international students

1- Admission requirements at state universities:

Studying at a state university means passing its own entrance exam,

known as the YÖS, which state universities in Türkiye use to choose

between the students who apply to them. Selection also depends on the strength of the file the student submits,

so students with the better files have the best chance of a place at a state university in Türkiye.

No one can guarantee a place at a state university in Türkiye.

2- Admission requirements at private universities:
The requirements here are easier and acceptance rates higher than at state universities. The student must

1 have completed secondary school successfully

2 ideally hold a language proficiency certificate; if the student does not have one,

the university will set a date for a language test

3 obtain a preliminary acceptance

4 pay the first instalment of the tuition fees into the university's account in order to receive final admission

5 apply for the Turkish visa, then travel to Türkiye to complete enrolment at the university and begin studying
