How to book an appointment at the Syrian consulate in Istanbul
For many Syrians, the Syrian consulate in Istanbul is the only route open to them
when they want to renew their passports, register their children or obtain official papers,
whether for a legal residence permit, a university application or travel to another country.
Appointments are booked by sending an email with a form attached
which must be filled in electronically, according to a notice published on the official website of the Syrian
consulate in Istanbul.
The form can be completed online,
or downloaded and filled in using a "PDF" editing program,
provided the program supports Arabic, so that the letters are not written from left to right.
The consulate requires every field on the form to be completed, covering the applicant's
personal details, date of birth and national number,
along with the type of transaction they wish to carry out.
The applicant must then send the request to the email address mofaexmin@gmail.com,
and once the consulate has reviewed it, it will reply to that address a few days later
with the date and time for carrying out the transaction inside the consulate.
In the notice published on its website, the consulate stressed that it rejects any forged appointment form,
in order to keep work at the consulate general running smoothly.
