What is the notary in Turkey
The notary in Turkey is a subsidiary government office responsible for certifying official documents,
confirming that the stamps and signatures on the document are authentic, and thus
any document, once notarised, becomes an official document.
The Arabic equivalent term for notary is: “"Katib al-'Adl" (notary public).”
The role of the notary in Turkey is considered complementary to the work of the courts and other government offices,
and although it is not a core government institution, it is very important for documenting
documents and giving them legal value.
