The wonderful chocolate museum
The remarkable chocolate museum sits on the European side of Istanbul
in the Esenyurt district, and ranks among the most important museums in the world. It is a cultural and leisure venue and, truth be told, stranger than fiction. It is also one of the landmarks of modern tourism and one of the most appealing ideas in Turkey, covering 25 thousand square metres. Inside this exhibition is the (pelit) chocolate factory, which has been producing chocolate for fifty years
The main hall..
is at the museum entrance and the first room you see when you visit. It has a waterfall of hot chocolate, and you can try some of the delicious chocolate from the waterfall
The main hall also holds some wonderful sculptures, such as a large house and Noah's ark, both made of chocolate
As well as paintings and sculptures of the most important historical events
As for the Istanbul hall ..
it is laid out with Istanbul's landmarks: the suspension bridge, Hagia Sophia, the Sultan Ahmed Mosque, the Galata Tower, the Bosphorus Bridge and the Maiden's Tower, all as small models, along with many structures and models of the most important tourist and lively spots that make Istanbul what it is. This hall offers a quick virtual tour of every one of Istanbul's tourist landmarks, only made of chocolate
Then we come to the hall of Turkey's great figures ..
where we find structures and models of Turkish and Ottoman figures such as Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror, alongside a large number of other statues representing leaders and influential figures in the history of the Turkish state. You will not believe that what you see in front of you is made of chocolate alone, gathered, carved and shaped in a way that delights the eye
There is also the arts hall ..
This hall has been set aside to display pictures of works by Turkish and international artists and some timeless cultural works, reworked as chocolate paintings, such as the works of the Spanish artist Pablo Picasso and the Turkish artist Osman Hamdi, and in particular the painting known as “The Tortoise Trainer”
There are also chocolate statues and pictures of international cultural works such as: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Pirates of the Caribbean, the Smurfs and other models and television characters children love
After that we will see the creativity in the civilisations hall ..
The chocolate panels in this hall of the museum are devoted to the most important civilisations that passed through Turkey, such as the Greek, Byzantine and Ottoman, along with many panels telling the story of other nations' civilisations
These five halls are nothing less than a world of chocolate, where the finest artistic and cultural displays meet under a distinctive chocolate signature
On arrival, visitors can also get information from the staff about cocoa beans and learn the stages of making chocolate, as well as about the designs on show
There is also a small shop selling some of the factory's own products and heritage items, and the museum has provided everything that makes visitors comfortable throughout their time there, from essential facilities and services they can use, such as public toilets, a gift shop and a car park, to a café
You will enjoy visiting this lovely museum for the entertaining activities it offers, all of it aimed at delighting every guest during their visit, as nobody leaves this place without buying different kinds of chocolate to eat later or perhaps give as a gift, and they can take the finest photos and videos inside the museum
So when planning this visit, bear in mind that there are unique exhibits the museum is known for, and they may take up a good deal of your time, full of enjoyment and delight
This one-of-a-kind visit will offer you plenty of special activities that are found nowhere else in the world but in this fantastical museum ..
