Panorama Museum Istanbul and the scent of the past

This museum is one of the sights well worth visiting, for the sheer variety of what it holds inside. Every one

of the pieces on display carries real weight and depicts an important chapter in the history this country lived through over many years.
Through its absorbing displays, this museum shows the conquest of Constantinople, capital of the Byzantine Empire,

by the forces of the Ottoman Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror on 29 May 1453. The great panoramic painting is something you simply have to

see inside this museum: it captures a hugely important part of the conquest of Istanbul and lets you live that battle for yourself

especially with the sound effects. Nobody should miss this astonishing experience.
Panorama Museum Istanbul has three floors. The top one is built as a circle covered by a dome filled

with three-dimensional paintings that show the whole course of the battle and put you inside the scene, so you can see

the faces of the fighters worn down by war, as well as real weapons such as cannon from that period

scattered here and there, along with the echoing sound of the takbir

The middle floor of the museum holds photographs dating back to the Ottoman era, and beside each photograph there is

a full explanation of its history and the names of the figures in it. The museum also has an audio guide that supports

Arabic, which you can use to hear a detailed account of everything you want to know about the conquest of Constantinople
The lower floor of Panorama Museum Istanbul holds a shop selling souvenirs connected to the conquest of Constantinople,

while next to the museum sits a helicopter offering a flying and driving simulation using the latest electronic technology
